The former Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia, Zoran Zaef, is in Greece, invited to the 3rd SYRIZA Congress.
Shortly before his arrival in Athens, Mr. Zaef spoke about his country’s relations with Greece and the Prespa Agreement.
“The Prespa Agreement was and will be worthwhile,” Zoran Zaef said in an interview with Skopje’s I Vradini newspaper, adding that it would prove worthwhile because it turned the problem into a solution, conflict into co-operation and hostility. in alliance.
According to him, the cooperation between Northern Macedonia and Greece is at a fairly high level. He commented that “there are points where there is cooperation and progress very fast, there are also points where cooperation is done at a moderate pace”, emphasizing that progress is obvious and there is no setback.
“We saw Prime Ministers Kovacevski and Mitsotaki the other day in Delphi for a joint, constructive friendly meeting. “I am convinced that the people and the political forces, who want friendship and cooperation, instead of isolation and conflict, are much more numerous and dominant compared to those who are opposed,” Zaef said.
Answering a question about the Prespa Agreement, Mr. Zaef stressed that “we are now neighbors, who are together in NATO, who support and protect each other, the companies of the two countries are cooperating more than before.”
And he characteristically stated: “Greece finally has no problem with the fact that we are Macedonians from Northern Macedonia.”
“I invite you, everyone who will read this interview, to put your right hand on your heart and answer these questions, as I am doing at the moment. I say: was it worth it? “And I say it’s worth it,” Zaef said.
