The procedure regarding the ballot box that will be set up tomorrow afternoonon whether the chairman and the central committee will be elected by the members of SYRIZA, split the party congress.
The “umbrella” asked for two ballot boxes. In one there should be the question of electing a president by the congress and in the second, the question of electing a central committee by the congress.
The floor was given by Euclid Tsakalotosexplaining how it should be followed the solution of the “umbrella” because one may disagree with the proposal for the election of a president by the congress, but agree with the election of the Central Committee by it.
Dimitris Tzanakopoulos explained how if the ballot box “broke” in two, would mean a split in political reasoning of Alexis Tsipras and would be tantamount to electoral fraud.
Finally, tthe request was put to the vote and by show of hands and was rejected.
Tomorrow, two ballot boxes will finally be set up. In one will be the proposal of Alexis Tsipras for election of president and Central Committee from the grassroots and in the other the proposal of Umbrella for election of president and JV by the congress.
