Mitsotaki announcements for the increase of the minimum wage are expected in the afternoon

In a message to the citizens, in the afternoon, the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is expected to announce, according to information, the increase of the minimum wage and the amount at which it will be formed.

At this time, Mr. Mitsotakis has an appointmentat the Maximos Palace, with the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kosti Hatzidakion the issue of raising the minimum wage.

Speaking earlier to SKAI, the government spokesman, Giannis Oikonomou, stated that today the Minister of Labor will inform the prime minister about the completion of the consultation on the increase in the minimum wage, so that the government can make the announcements, which he delimited “very close” as he said and added “it will be a substantial and brave increase of income”.

The Deputy Minister of Social Security, Domna Michailidou, described the increase of the minimum as “brave”, while she recommended to the citizens a few hours of patience.

They want information that the government will decide to increase the minimum wage to around 6 or 7%, in addition to the 2% given on January 1, 2022.

That is, based on these scenarios, the increase of 6% will make it to 703 euros, to 7% to 709.4 and the increase of 8% to 716 euros per month.

The level of wage increases combined with measures to support households and businesses are part of government interventions to tackle accuracy.
