A special dinner was held a few days before its 14th Congress New Democracy. In particular, the former presidents of ONED were in a Cretan tavern in Athens together with the current president of the youth and Secretary of the Political Committee of the New Democracy Pavlos Marinakis, according to a post, invited by the Secretary General of the Prime Minister Grigoris Dimitriadis.
The general director of the party, Giannis Bratakos, was also “present” at the “blue” gathering, while among those present Vassilis Michaloliakos, George Voulgarakis, Giannis Koulizakos, Evripidis Stylianidis, Panos Sideris, Dimitris Maravelias, Christos Kourousis, George Papanikolaou, Sakis Ioannidis, Vassilis Georgiadis and Costas Dervos.
According to information o Vangelis Meimarakis was absent due to obligations in Strasbourg, however, he called by phone for “participation” in the company of New Democracy executives.
According to the same information, the political developments and the procedures of the Conference starred in the discussion of the “blue” attendees, while the historical flashbacks to their journey in the years of ONNED.
It is worth noting that in the context of the statutory changes that will be put to a vote by the 14th Congress, the former ONED presidents are expected to be ex officio members of the party’s Political Committee in recognition of the timeless struggles of the youth.
