New poll: 8.1% lead of ND over SYRIZA-Concerns about accuracy

New Democracy of SYRIZA is predicted by 8 percentage points in a new poll conducted by ALCO on behalf of OPEN

The nationwide poll was conducted from 26 to 30 April 2022.

When asked about the intention to vote for the valid ones, New Democracy leads with 8.1% from the second SYRIZA (30.6% against 22.5%), while in third place follows the Movement for Change with 13%.

The KKE receives 6% of the citizens’ preference, followed by the Hellenic Solution with 4.9%, while MERA25 enters Parliament marginally with 3%.

The percentage of undecided is high and amounts to 14%.

When asked about most suitable prime ministerKyriakos Mitsotakis is ahead of Alexis Tsipras, however the difference decreased from February to April.

In February the difference was 14 points (37% Mitsotakis and 23% Tsipras), while in April the difference fell to 9 points (34% versus 25%). The “nobody” remains at the same levels and at 31%.

In the question “Which party can best ensure Stability, Growth and Support in Society”, New Democracy is ahead of SYRIZA by 13 points. In Support for Society the difference falls to 3 percentage points, however the ruling party is ahead in this case as well. Third party and well behind the first two comes the Movement for Change. However, the answer “no” party is the most popular.

Citizens were asked to answer the question whether SYRIZA would deal better with the issue of accuracy than New Democracy.

Most appreciate that the main opposition party would face the problem worse (35%)while 34% believe that there would be no difference in the policy of the two parties.

22% estimate that SYRIZA would be more effective.

Citizens are pessimistic about the Economy

Most citizens, almost two in three, say they are pessimistic about their financial situation for the immediate future.

60% say they expect a further financial burden, 29% that the situation will remain the same and only 4% expect improvement.
Most citizens feel that government measures do not help support family income.

49% estimate that the measures for accuracy, the reduction of ENFIA and the increase of the minimum wage do not help at all, 23% a little, while 16% answer that the measures support the family income more / more.

Finally, as it seems, in addition to accuracy, which is a major problem for citizens (60%), concerns about the war in Ukraine are growing, with one in four citizens considering it as a major issue (24%). Following are the relations with Turkey with a small percentage (6%), while the pandemic has decreased to 5%.
