Andy Murray says he wants to join teenager Emma Raducanu in mixed doubles at Wimbledon this year.
Scott, 35, regularly played doubles during the later stages of his career, winning the 2019 Feliciano Lopez and Queens. His famous partner was SW19’s Serena Williams.
Wimbledon started in late June and Murray is reportedly looking for a player to join the All England Club in mixed doubles.
Speaking this week, Murray offered to play Raducanus, who took the stage after winning the US Open last year, which would be a fascinating prospect.
He states: I want to play with Emma one day. I’m sure we’re both focused on jogging well in singles, but yeah, I want to do that. “
Murray and Raducanu have previously trained together at Indian Wells. The opportunity to unite the duo this summer will be a huge boost for Wimbledon organisers.
This year, Murray is aiming for a big show at the All England Club and has already been on the court since leaving the French Open.
The three Grand Slam winners are the Serbiton Trophy at this week’s Challenger event, trying to refine the game on grass.
On Monday, he revealed that he had “great expectations” from Wimbledon, winning his first round match against Yuri Rojinov in a live set.
He states: “I have high expectations for myself and have high goals for the coming weeks, which I will regularly discuss with the team.
“I don’t share it now, but I trained hard. I felt grass was the best surface and prepared as much as I could.
“At this point, we have no control over the results or the matches at Wimbledon, but we can control our dependence on the court. We guarantee that we will play 100% well.”
