Barcelona and Bayern Munich have identified Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku as an alternative to Robert Lewandowski and Sadio Mané.
The Spanish giant ‘Barcelona’ wants to buy the legendary Pole Lewandowski this summer after confirming that he wants to leave the ‘Bavarian’ from Munich.
Lewandowski scored 50 goals in 46 games for the Bavarian last season and 344 goals in 375 games in eight years for a German club.
However, the 33-year-old confirmed he was looking for a new challenge this summer, saying “the story is over” at Bayern Munich earlier this week.
Given Lewandowski’s position, Barcelona are optimistic they will bring him to Camp Nou in the coming weeks, but Chelsea’s Lukaku has emerged as a backup option.
The Spanish-language version of Mundo Deportivo reports that if Lewandowski’s contract fails, Barcelona will try to sign the relentless striker Lukaku.
Lukaku, who only returned to Chelsea last summer, wants to leave Stamford Bridge after an embarrassing season scoring just eight Premier League goals.
The Belgians ideally want to return to Inter Milan, but even if Lukaku’s salary is reduced, it is not yet clear whether the Italians will be able to secure his signature.
However, according to Spanish reports, Bayern Munich have no choice this summer as Lukaku is considered a replacement for Lewandowski if Liverpool are unable to sign Manet.
Mané has reportedly reached an agreement with Bayern, but the club needs to come to an agreement on the players who helped Liverpool reach the Champions League final last month and challenge all four.
Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton said if the influential striker Mané left Anfield it would be a “success” for Liverpool.

“If you’re Liverpool, you don’t want to sell for money,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live at a nightclub on Monday.
“When Mané still wears the Liverpool shirt, they will come back strong. I’m not saying he is irreplaceable because the adoption of the cut was excellent, but Liverpool’s consistency. The level was up to the task.”
The mane is very versatile and plays in the middle of those false nine positions on the left side. And I think it is costing them to change it so quickly.
“I can’t think of any other player to come in and work straight away. I think it would be a huge blow to Liverpool if he left.”
Meanwhile, former Italian star Antonio Cassano said last month he would boycott the Barcelona match if he signed Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
“I love Barcelona’s philosophy, but if they sign Lukaku, they won’t watch the game,” the former Roma, Real Madrid, Milan, Inter Milan and Sampdoria star told BoboTV.
“He can’t play 3 assists against Chelsea without a game. In Barcelona, he makes 55 assists before scoring a goal. How can I do that?”
