The same goes for the British champion, finalist of the Tokyo Olympics and holder of the national record (5.80), Harry Koppel, while the transatlantic trip from the USA to Ancient Olympia will be made by the American jumper Andrew Irwin (5.88).
Another American will honor the meeting of the fourth Tokyo Olympian with his presence, since Nate Richard will compete in “Fly Olympia”. The athlete has an individual record of 5.75 and will travel to Greece with the aim of improving it.
The participations from abroad are completed by the Slovenian champion, holder of the national record with 5.70 and bronze in the European Open Athletics Championship 2016, Robert Rener.
Of course, Greek athletes could not miss a rally held in Ancient Olympia. Giannis Rizos, who just a few days ago improved his individual record with a jump of 5.50, Petros Hatziou with a record of 5.55 and Antonis Santas with 5.35 will compete in the international rally.
The meeting belongs to the category “Continental tour challenger meeting” of the World Federation.
The match is scheduled for 19:00 on Sunday and will be televised by ERT.
