Liverpool and Manchester City players dominate the Best Eleven of the PFA Team of the Year 2022

Liverpool and Manchester City stars dominate the best PFA Premier League teams of 2022.

Nine of the 11 players came from the top two clubs last season. This includes Chelsea and Manchester United.

Citizens won the title from the Reds on the final day of the campaign, over all of Jurgen Klopp’s side, with more than half the squad coming from Anfield.

Goalkeeper Alison Becker, defenders Trent Alexander Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, midfielder Thiago Alcantara and forwards Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané all arrested, with Sarah also receiving the Player of the Year award.

Full-back João Cancelo and midfielders Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne rank in the city’s top three, but attacking midfielder Phil Foden, the young player of the year for two consecutive seasons, did not take place.

Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger and United striker Cristiano Ronaldo made the XI. This was revealed at the awards show on Thursday night.

Given that City and Liverpool scored 18 points everywhere else, Chiago’s inclusion may have been frowned upon, but it’s surprising that both have almost total control over the team.

The Spaniards had a good season, but other players on loan from Chelsea to Crystal Palace, such as West Ham’s Declan Rice, Southampton’s James Ward Prose and Conor Gallagher, may be struggling.

The choice to lead Ronaldo is also controversial, as the 37-year-old Ronaldo scored 18 points. His efforts could not prevent United from ending the season with the lowest score in Premier League history.

Many believe it was Tottenham’s son Heemin who was nominated for his place in the XI and, indeed, player of the year.
