Christian Horner sensationally accused Sir Lewis Hamilton of exaggerating back pain to help Mercedes catch up with Red Bull.

This season every F1 team has been affected by Solp’s problem of cars jumping up and down out of control, affecting performance and causing serious discomfort in the cockpit.

Hamilton and his Mercedes team-mate George Russell were the most influential drivers in the network, and on the Sunday after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix the former clearly felt a lot of pain for the W13.

“Especially here, I cannot express the pain I feel directly on the street. After all, you only pray that it ends,” he said after the 37-year run.

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has also said Hamilton’s spinal cord injury could mean the Briton could miss the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix, but Horner believes the pair are making up for the situation…

Regulatory changes are being sought to make it easier for teams to address solpoising, and Horner believes the comments from rival drivers and team leaders are part of a conspiracy to enforce these changes.

of course. “It’s part of the game,” Horner said of the race.

I tell you [the Red Bull drivers] Argue on the radio as much as possible and cause as much trouble as possible.

“If this was a real security issue for the entire network, I think it needs to be addressed. But if it applies only to isolated individuals or teams, this team can address it. That’s what you need to do.”

“It seemed unfair to punish those who did a decent job compared to those who might have missed their mark a bit.

With Red Bull leading both championships and Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez leading the drivers’ standing after eight races, it’s no wonder Horner doesn’t want to close the gap to the team.

But the ‘debris’ problem is widespread across the network, and even Verstappen has previously admitted that his car suffers from this problem this season, although not as much as any other car…

Even if Horner admitted this, he didn’t think he needed to change the ground rules to address this problem.

“Of course the easiest thing is to lift the car. The team can choose to do it, but it will hurt the running of the car.”

“Don’t drive an unsafe car, but I think it’s more technical for the guys, because some cars have problems and some cars have problems.

“The easiest thing is to complain from a safety point of view, but every team has a choice.”
