Marcus Rashford expects a change in Manchester United’s identity under the leadership of Erik Ten Hag and believes it will soon become apparent.

The United players are preparing for a pre-season tour to Thailand, where they will face Liverpool in Bangkok on July 12 and travel to Australia for a match between Melbourne and Perth.

The new manager will work hard last season under the leadership of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick to implement his style of play with a team that is unstructured, ideas and insecure.

For Ten Hag, this is a big job for him in his first job in British football, but Rashford believes it will make an immediate impact, which is obvious to all.

“I want to improve my fitness level at the start of preseason,” Rashford said. ‘[You want to] Let’s go back to the Premier League game.

“It’s clear to see when the team changes its identity and the purpose of football. I think you can see it.”

Rashford hopes to return to a preseason season, like before a pandemic, and believes it will be a good time for the team to develop team spirit under a new coach.

“We are all happy to be able to spend this time together, away,” said a British footballer. “It is true that I have been away from home for a long time. [the team is] Like your little family.

“It will make you feel happy. We couldn’t travel because of Covid, and that’s what we miss.

“It’s always been a big part of our preseason, so it’s exciting to get back to these places.”
