Roger Federer hopes to return to Wimbledon next year when he made a surprise appearance at the All England Club on Sunday to mark Center Court’s 100th anniversary.
To mark the centenary of the famous stadium, Wimbledon invited many former champions to watch tennis on that day. This tennis is currently played in the middle of the week and has an early break. And they greeted them on the lawn and cheered.
After announcing the BBC’s Wimbledon final, Suberker took over as host with John McEnroe as some of the biggest names in tennis were invited onto the court.
Andy Murray, Pat Cash, active men’s champion Novak Djokovic, Billie Jean King, Venus Williams, Bjorn Borg, Rod Laver and others will be in attendance, with the famous Cliff Richard also performing during the summer break.
But the biggest cheers of the afternoon went to Federer. Federer has not been to the tournament for the first time in 23 years since his debut in 1999.

Federer was asked how he remembers playing center court and if he would play again. “I was lucky to have played a lot of matches on this court. It’s embarrassing to be here today. Role!
But being here with all the other champions is great and this court has given me my biggest win, my biggest loss.
“One of my highlights was coming out here with Pete Sampras in 2001. He encouraged a lot of us to play here successfully and represent the sport. He’s also a person. The end.
“Like you said, I want to do it and I want to go back.”
He continued: “Of course I miss being here as a player. I want to be here.
I thought it was going to be a tough year coming here last year, so maybe they didn’t think it would take long to get back, but my knees were rough.
“But I was happy. I was happy at home. It was a good year, playing tennis or not. My kids are fine. My wife is wonderful. We are happy at home. I’ve been traveling for years, so it’s great to be home.
“I didn’t know if I should go here, but I’m happy to be here now!”
Some defending champions, such as Simona Halep and Rafael Nadal, have to prepare for the match, while hopeful Heather Watson, young Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz, will be on center court on Sunday, Djokovic himself can be seen.
