Phil Mickelson describes his absence from the British Open event in St Andrews

Phil Mickelson told reporters to get frustrated and “let loose” when asked about LIV Golf after the first outdoor round.

Mickelson’s absence from the final championship events at St Andrews is one of the main issues this week in the 150th edition of the championship.

The 2013 winner claimed to have been invited to a festive dinner and four-hole exhibition tournament, but became one of the faces of the controversial tournament.

Saudi-backed rival LIV series has opted out to avoid distractions.
In contrast to LIV frontman Greg Norman’s standing as open champion in 1986 and 1993, R&A organizers said the Australians were not invited.

“The R&A contacted me a few weeks ago and said, ‘Look, I don’t think it’s a good idea to go, but if you want, you can,'” Mickelson said after the launch of his latest open challenge. He said 72.

“I didn’t want to do much about it, so I said ‘OK.’ We both agreed I shouldn’t.”

When asked if he was angry about such a situation, a 52-year-old man replied: You’re welcome. I don’t think she could be more excited or excited about where she was at.

“I love events. I can play golf in my life, enjoy competitive golf in my life, be exciting, be different, play and compete, but still do what I want to do.”

After skipping dinner attended by Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Sir Nick Faldo, Tiger Woods and others, Mickelson said: Please don’t let him go. I asked the same question three times.

Mickelson stated that he had no regrets about signing up for the big LIV circuit. This caused a lot of controversy in the game and it was banned from the PGA Tour.
