Orbelin Pineda Alvarado was born on March 24, 1996 in Cojuca de Catalan, Mexico. He started his football career in the academies of Queretaro, with which he also made his professional debut at the age of 18. In total, he played in 59 matches (9 goals, 5 assists), before Chivas decided to pay the amount of 5.5 million euros to acquire him in January 2016.

With the Guadalajara team he played in 127 games over the next three years, having 10 goals and 8 assists. In January 2019, Pineda made yet another expensive transfer, with Cruz Azul having more than €10 million available to bring him to their roster. She played in 113 games, scoring 13 times and providing 16 assists.

In January 2022 he was acquired as a free agent from Telta and in the second half of the 2021-22 season he made 7 appearances. In his career he has won a Championship (2017), a Cup (2017), a Super Cup (2016) and a Central American Champions League (2018) with Chivas, as well as a Championship (2021), a League Cup (2019) and a Super Cup (2019) with Cruz Azul.

He was an international with the “small” National teams of Mexico and at the age of 20 he made his debut in the Men’s National Team of his country. To date he has played in 45 games and has scored 6 times. He was a member of the team that won the North American Championship in 2019, as well as the team that reached the final of the same event in 2021.
