Neymar says he wants to stay at Paris Saint-Germain and doesn’t want the club to leave this summer, but the coach admits in the transfer window that he doesn’t know what will happen to the Brazilians.

After Kylian Mbappé suddenly changed his mind about signing for Real Madrid and staying in Paris, Neymar’s future has been questioned.

The striker is associated with transfers to Chelsea and Manchester City, but no offers have been made for 30-year-olds.

A former Barcelona star replaced Mbappé in a friendly win over Urawa Red Diamonds on Saturday, speaking about his future after the match and insisting he had no plans to leave and the club did not want him to leave.

“I still want to be here with the club,” Neymar said after winning 3-0 in Japan. “So far the club hasn’t told me anything, so I don’t know what their plans are for me.

“I don’t have to prove myself to anyone. I have to play my football and play happy football.”

New PSG manager Christophe Gautier was not very optimistic, admitting he did not know if Neymar would stay or leave this summer.

“I don’t know what will happen in the near future when the transfer window closes,” Gartier said.

“We’re announcing that he’s leaving, we’re announcing that he’s staying. I wasn’t telling Ney, but he and his people at the club don’t seem to be upset by what’s being said about the situation.”
