Alex Ferguson has taken on a new role at Manchester United and has been the club’s biggest influence since stepping down as manager in 2013.

Red Devils CEO Richard Arnold has brought together a group of key United figures to bring back an 80-year-old.

The Daily Mail reports that Ferguson will be joined by critical captain Bryan Robson, former chief executive David Gil and current director of football John Marteau.

The first meeting of the group of five is believed to have taken place on Tuesday at the club’s training ground, with no regular meetings thereafter.

The roles of Ferguson and Gil are seen as more influential than the predominantly iconic non-executive directors who have served on the board since 2013.

The new think tank is not believed to have a direct impact or impact on manager Erik Ten Hag, with the redevelopment of Old Trafford and Carrington and the club and fan base, according to an emailed report. We plan to address issues like relationships.

But we definitely mentioned football. Ferguson remains influential on the pitch, and Cristiano Ronaldo is discussing this week that the striker’s future is still in the balance.

The 37-year-old wants to leave Old Trafford and the club wants to keep him. Ferguson can convince the player that he has become a superstar to succumb to the will of the club.
