With Atlético-MG title, find out who is experiencing the longest fast in the Brazilian Nationals

by

Champion this Thursday night (2) with the victory over Bahia, Atlético-MG ended a 50-year fast without winning the title of the Brazilian Championship.

Among the national champions, the team from Belo Horizonte was the one who lived the biggest fast since its last conquest in the tournament, registered in 1971. Now, the club with the longest drought in the Nacional is Guarani.

The team from Campinas, champion in 1978, has not won the Brazilian Nationals for 43 years. Currently, the bugrinos dispute Serie B. In this year’s edition, Guarani did not get access and will play in the second division again in 2022.

Among the clubs that play in the Serie A of the Brazilian Championship, the one who is experiencing the greatest lack of titles in the competition is Internacional, which last lifted the trophy in 1979. Last season, the Gauchos were runners-up.

Next comes Coritiba, champion of Nacional for the first and only time in 1986. The team from Curitiba got access and will dispute Serie A next year.
