Eric ten Hag has confirmed that Anthony Martial will miss Manchester United’s trip to Southampton on Saturday, but has suggested new signing Casemiro will make his debut for the club.

Martial enjoyed a strong pre-season at United and was considered one of Ten Haig’s favorites before suffering an injury that ruled him out of the first two games of the season.

The Frenchman was well enough to come off the bench against Liverpool last week, coming on for Anthony Elanga at half-time to help United secure a much-needed win.

But Martial’s campaign floundered once again as the 26-year-old again refused to train and missed this weekend’s game against Southampton.

The good news for Manchester United is that new signing Casemiro is set to make his debut for the Premier League club after a £70m move from Real Madrid.

When asked about the latest team news at Friday’s press conference, Ten Hag replied, “See you tomorrow.”

Casemiro is doing very well. he did all the training. We train individually at the beginning and then in teams for the last few days.
