Historic double for Greece!
Miltos Tedoglou and Antigoni Drisbioti were named the top athletes in Europe for August, through the voting of the European Athletics Federation.
The two athletes stood out with their achievements in the European championship, which was confirmed by their supremacy in this particular vote.

Drisbioti triumphed in the Munich event with her victories in the 20km and 35km and defeated in the voting the Dutch Femke Bol (gold medal in 400m/ 400m relay/ 4x400m), the Albanian Luisa Ghega (gold medal in 3,000m . steeplechase) and the German Gina Lukenkember (gold medal in 100m/ 4x100m).
Tedoglou was crowned European champion for the second time in a row and won the title of top athlete, defeating Sweden’s Armando Duplantis (pole vault gold medal), Norway’s Jakob Ingebrichtsen (1,500m/5,000m gold medal) and Lithuania’s Mykolas Alekna. (gold medal in discus).
