Apostolos Armenakis will compete in Pegasus Polichnis this season. Volley League newcomers Thessaloniki have announced the signing of the 42-year-old international center for next year, to help with his experience in trying to stay in the big division.

“The Board of Directors of Pegasus Polichnis is pleased to announce the start of cooperation with Apostolos Armenakis.
The international athlete, 2.05 m tall, was born in Thessaloniki on July 19, 1980 and plays as a central player.
Apostolos Armenakis stated the following: “The championship is expected to be competitive. It seems from all the teams, except for the first four that have formed to challenge for the titles, that the rest are more or less at the same levels. Of course, we will be able to say this with more certainty when the League Cup games start at least, so that we can have a first competitive view of where the teams are.
Our own team has elements from the quality of the experienced players, but also from the dynamism and enthusiasm of the younger ones. We are optimistic that we will be competitive. I think it is very positive that Thessaloniki has two teams in the first division again. Pegasus makes his “maiden” appearance in the Volley league. What we have to do is to work hard and say whatever we have to say on the field with the competitiveness and the results we will bring.
I don’t think we can at this moment delineate the goals of the team. We are waiting for the arrival of our Brazilian player, so that we can “bond” and train together as best as possible to present ourselves ready for the League Cup and later for the premier league”.
