His feelings after the third place he took in the qualifying of the Singapore Grand Prix, revealed the Lewis Hamilton.
Her pilot Mercedes he stated that he was disappointed to have so narrowly missed out on pole position but also grateful that he will start tomorrow’s (2/10) race from the second row of the grid, adding that he did not have the required traction in the last lap.
The British pilot’s statements in detail:
“I was pushing too hard, I was too close. Our opponents were very fast, but I thought that maybe with the perfect lap I would make it. It was very difficult to fight for the first place. I didn’t have the traction I needed on the last lap. But whatever, I’m grateful to be on the second row of the grid and grateful to the team for continuing to push, keep our heads down and hope tomorrow is a better day.”.
“We didn’t know how close we would be to the top. We knew we would be stronger than in Monza but we didn’t know exactly how much. But to lose pole position for so little… that’s okay. We will fight tomorrow”.
