Opinion – Walter Casagrande Jr.: Covid scares again and we know whose fault it is

I got Covid. I had some strong symptoms on Saturday, but I have been recovering well day by day. When observing the large number of people who have also been contaminated, in what seems to be a new wave, I can’t help but remember another legacy that the perverse Jair Bolsonaro left us: Covid-19.

Yes, we are getting contaminated again.

It was not enough not to buy vaccines when you should and to see almost 700 thousand people die because of arrogance, arrogance and denialism.

Throughout this period, he mocked the illness and the families who were losing their loved ones.

He campaigned against social isolation, the use of masks and vaccination.

Many people joined in the cowardly noise of this gentleman.

His former health minister Pazuello, silent and subservient, is as cowardly as he is, because he was simply a puppet of the ventriloquist Bolsonaro.

Then came another, just as bad as the predecessor: Marcelo Queiroga, the same one who showed the middle finger to anti-Bolsonaro protesters in New York, when they shamed Brazil worldwide for being forced to eat pizza on the street because they were not vaccinated.

Under his management, Saúde advertised chloroquine, a drug with no efficacy against Covid.

A man, despite being a doctor, totally rude, rude and cowardly, because he deceived and manipulated Brazilian society, putting everyone at risk.

Now it has been more disingenuous than before, as it is making a delayed appeal for the population to take the vaccine booster.

My dear Marcelo Queiroga, do you have the courage to look at yourself in the mirror, or do you brush your teeth and comb your hair looking at the wall?

You are one of the main responsible for the new Covid outbreak that has been contaminating so many people again.

Those who took all the doses may not have the most serious reactions, but this is far from being a “little flu”, as the Machiavellian president said.

You had to have bought the vaccines and encouraged vaccination from the first moment, and only now do you come with this talk of concern?

You don’t have the slightest empathy with the Brazilian people.

Everyone has to keep in mind that you, Marcelo Queiroga, are one of the villains in this story.

He is responsible for everything that has happened and continues to happen.

We are at the mercy of the virus again and you are now appealing for them to take a booster dose?

You should appeal to those who didn’t even take the first booster of the vaccine, something around 69 million Brazilians, because you manipulated people’s minds so that they sought treatments without the slightest efficacy and doubted the vaccination.

Or have you forgotten that a large part of the population was not vaccinated because you had a strong campaign against immunization?

In 2021, you were still telling people to use chloroquine, investing millions in the production of a drug that was already proving useless for Covid.

You released the masks well before the time we were supposed to stop using them, not to mention the bad example of the head of the nation, who not only didn’t use protection, but made a point of generating agglomerations in the middle of the pandemic and even ripped masks off the face of child.

Even as a doctor, you did not respect the results of science and publicly disagreed with the WHO, repeating everything that the “anti-scientist” Jair Bolsonaro said.

Now, don’t give me this thing about turning in favor of the vaccine.
