Estonian Ot Tanak was also second with Hyundai and third was Japanese Takamoto Katsuta with Toyota. Kale Rovanpera, who had already secured the title, was only eleventh in a Toyota Yaris.
The rally in Japan entered the world calendar for the first time since 2010, when Sebastien Ozier took the lead and finished fourth today.
