In a twist, organizers of the World Cup in Qatar will announce on Friday that no alcoholic beer will be allowed to be sold to supporters in World Cup stadiums, a source with knowledge of the decision told Reuters.

The expected announcement comes two days before the start of the Cup, the first to be held in a Middle Eastern country.

The main sponsor of the World Cup is precisely Budweiser, which would sell alcoholic beer within the perimeter of the eight arenas, three hours before and one hour after each game.
