The 12th Panhellenic Powerlifting Championship that was held on December 4 and 5 in Stavroupoli, Thessaloniki was crowned with success, while with the participation of 65 athletes due to the limitations set by the Covid-19 protocols, great performance was achieved.
The first place in Overall was won by Thomas Aggelakis (+ 120k), who despite the fact that he was facing an injury problem scored 802.5k. total. The 2nd place was won by the promising Costas Barounis (93k.) With 687.5k and the 3rd Fotis Michael (93k.) With 670k.
Notable is the decision of Giannis Ntagounakis to retire from active action after a rich career with international and domestic distinctions. The Hanioti superathlete -teacher in the profession- gave amazing matches with opponents huge names of the field such as Tassos Triantafyllou and Thomas Aggelakis and will now offer his services from the position of coach, something he has been doing for several years now, pushing the sport several young children and contributing to its development.
The president of the Panhellenic Federation of Dynamic Triathlon Christos Kamargiannakis thanked the athletes for their participation and observance of the sanitary measures. “We expected 45 entries and finally they reached 65, always within the framework of the health protocols. I want to thank the athletes who competed and observed all the protection measures, as well as the judges and all those who contributed, in order for the event to be crowned with success. “PODT is already planning the next games in 2022. I want to wish happy birthday and a happy new year to everyone, with health and without injuries”.
