South Korea’s dramatic qualification for the round of 16 of the World Cup, after the 2-1 victory over Portugal, was considered a miracle by the South Korean press.
“Son provided the assist, Hwang converted and the miracle happened,” said the Chosun newspaper on its website.

The newspaper Donga highlighted the return of the South Korean team to the round of 16 of a World Cup after 12 years, and also called the feat a miracle.
