With a morning training, Panathinaikos continued its preparation on Cypriot soil, a day before the friendly match with Paphos (4/12 – 18:00). The “greens”, after yesterday’s relaxed schedule, worked a lot in the finals and played a two-goal game in the half court with Ivan Jovanovic asking his players for good tempo and correct movements.
Mission to Cyprus: Dionysis Desyllas
After the established warm-up, the weight was dropped at the ends of the phases on a hotplate. The ball was out on the wings with diagonal balls from the center to be crossed to the two attackers, who were trying to score. On the left end were Juancar, Xavier and Sanchez and on the right were Kotsiras, Vaiannidis, Kryparakos and from one point and then Palasios, after he had previously scored with an impressive volley.
Several beautiful goals were scored, as you can see in the video below.
A double-header followed in half the field with the footballers being divided into two teams, which were as follows:
Orange: Brignoli, Vagiannidis, Sarlia, Poungouras, Huancar, Tsokai, Simeonidis, Kyriopoulos, Xavier, Sporar.
Blue: Dioudis, Kotsiras, Magnuson, Sideras, Sanchez, Ruben, Bernard, Kriparakos, Verbitz, Palasios.
Speaking to the players after the first half, Ivan Jovanovic asked for a good tempo, correct movements regularly and when he saw these, he started the “bravos” and the well-known “oops” to his players!
The double ended with a score of 1-1. Simeonidis scored for the “Orange” and Verbic scored for the “Blue”.
After the end of the program Sporar and Bernard stayed to make additional finishing touches with Sarlia helping them. The Croatian was the one who gave the pass and the Brazilian with the Slovenian, after they made the right move they shot at the goalkeepers, having, in fact, a high percentage of success!
*The injured Ioannidis did not train, as did Kourbelis. Schenkefeld made a separate program with running.
