The interview given by coach Zlatko Dalic after qualifying for the World Cup semifinals, beating Brazil on penalties, was full of emotion. Croatia’s commander called the result a “miracle”.
“This is a miracle! Congratulations to the boys, to everyone! It was a great match, we knocked out the biggest favorites and I tell everyone: this is the real Croatia. When it’s needed, when it matters most, then we are!” coach, with tears in his eyes. “I said, never underestimate us! Let’s be proud! But this is not the end of us.”
Dalic also took the opportunity to thank his players and appreciate the support his team has had from fans and players of previous generations.
“A big salute to all Croats. Croatian veterans, this was for you. I am very happy that we, with three and a half million households, are making it to the semifinals for the second time in a row. I will speak to everyone now to say: the people are not normal!”
