São Paulo thrashes Santos and faces Corinthians in the final of the Women’s Paulista

São Paulo thrashed Santos in the semifinal of the São Paulo Women’s Championship and will play the final against Corinthians.

The tricolor team had already beaten the opponent in the first game, on the last 17th, by 1-0.

In the return duel, this Monday (1st), at Arena Barueri, São Paulo won by 4-0, with goals from Carol, Gláucia and two from Yaya.

With the triumph of this second, the tricolor team reached its 11th consecutive victory.

The São Paulo team has already won the Paulista Feminine twice, in 1997 and 1999. In the decision, they will face Corinthians, the current two-time champion of the tournament and which is seeking the third consecutive championship.

In the 2019 decision, the Corinthians team even surpassed the tricolor rival in the decision.

Corinthians and São Paulo were also the two best teams in the running points stage of this year’s tournament, respectively, finishing 1st and 2nd, with 31 and 30 points earned.

There is still no date set for this year’s final, but the clash will be in round-trip matches, with the second duel taking control of the Corinthians field.

From Thursday (4), Corinthians will be involved in the Copa Libertadores dispute, which runs until November 21st. Almost all the games will be in Paraguay, with the exception of the final, scheduled for Montevideo.
