The Brazilian Neuza Back was scheduled to work at VAR in the match between France and Morocco, this Wednesday (14th), at 4 pm (Brasília time), for the semifinal of the World Cup in Qatar, at the Al Bayt stadium. The game will be refereed by the Mexican Cesar Ramos.
Neuza will be VAR’s assistant, using automatic offside technology, the novelty of FIFA in this World Cup.
The Brazilian was assistant referee in Germany’s 4-2 victory over Costa Rica, in the last round of the group stage. Alongside French judge Stéphanie Frappart and Mexican assistant Karen Díaz Medina, he made history as the first female trio to work on a men’s World Cup game.
Mexican Cesar Ramos will be assisted by compatriots Alberto Morin and Miguel Hernandez. Venezuelan Jesus Valenzuela will be the fourth official, and Canadian Drew Fischer will command the VAR.
