Morocco files appeal against arbitration of the game against France

The Moroccan Football Federation said it considers that its selection was harmed in the semifinal of the World Cup against France, in the defeat by 2-0, and announced this Thursday (15) that it sought the “competent authority” to protest against the arbitration .

“The FRMF sent an email to the competent authority in which it reported on the refereeing situations that deprived the Moroccan team of two undisputed penalties, according to the opinion of several specialists,” the federation said in a statement.

No such “competent authority” is mentioned in the note.

During the semifinal between France and Morocco, the only yellow card of the match was shown to the Moroccan Boufal, for a collision with the Frenchman Theo Hernández, a punishment that the federation considered too severe.

In another move, the Moroccan players considered that Tchouaméni grabbed En-Nesyry by the waist inside the area.

The FRMF claims to have protested “strongly” against the performance of the Mexican referee César Arturo Ramos, and that it was surprised because “the video refereeing device (VAR) did not react to these situations”.

The Moroccan federation says it “will spare no efforts to defend and preserve the rights of national teams, preaching fairness in arbitration and denouncing these arbitration decisions” in the semifinals, adds the text.

Ramos, 38, was a referee at the 2018 World Cup and officiated three games in Qatar, including Morocco’s 2-0 victory over Belgium in the group stage.
