The Prime Minister succeeded in having the report on the need to finalize the ceiling issue on 19 December included in the text of conclusions
The Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, reportedly underlined during his intervention at the European Council that, while the order for the formation of a ceiling (price correction mechanism) was given last October, it has not yet been implemented.
According to the same information, he made it clear that the issue must be closed on Monday at the Council of Energy Ministers, while he asked to include in the text of the conclusions, which was finally done, a relevant reference on the need to urgently finalize the issue on the 19 December.
During the debate on transatlantic relations that preceded it and in particular on the American Inflation Reduction Act, Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized the need for Europe to move in a coordinated manner and support European businesses, putting money on the table and strengthening the RepowerEU.
