São Paulo announced this Saturday (17) the signing of striker Wellington Rato, who was at Atlético-GO. The 30-year-old has signed a contract until December 2025.
“After much dispute with other clubs, we managed to bring Wellington Rato. A committed player with good technical quality, who has important characteristics for our squad and stood out last year. Welcome!”, said president Julio Casares , through a note on the official website of São Paulo.
On the same note, the attacker talks about his arrival at Morumbi’s team.
“I’m very happy to be here and wear this shirt. I want to repay the affection from the fans that I’ve already received on social media. I really want to wear this shirt, because it’s a dream come true. I hope to be happy here”, he said.
Wellington Rato played 36 games with Atlético-GO in the Brazilian Championship and scored eight goals. In the season, including the other competitions, there were 70 matches and 15 goals.
