“I’ve seen what he’s done at Williams. And what he did this year is impressive, he had great stability and adapted immediately. He didn’t join a new team, of course. The previous two years he was in the back seat watching the work I was doing with the engineers, Riccardo Musconi, who is his number one engineer.
It was very easy for him to adapt to the team. He uses the same steering wheel as me and has obviously been testing with the team from previous seasons. I think he fit in perfectly with the team and that’s a positive thing. It has brought a balance. I believe our cooperation relationship is very strong.
I am older and have been a member of the group for many years. Handling whatever challenge is in front of me, having been through so much with this team, I don’t think it will be a problem.”
