An interview with a Romanian television network was granted by Razvan Lucescutalking about his philosophy in football, the relationship with his father and the decision to get into coaching.
His technician PAOK admitted that he was strongly influenced by his father in his choice of career, despite the fact that he was not convinced that he could succeed in the job.

“I got a lot from my father without him knowing it. What I saw at home from him gave me many examples. I was firmly convinced even when I was playing football that at the end of my career I would at least try to become a coach. I wasn’t sure I could handle the pressure of a coach, that I could do this job because of that pressure, but I was very tempted.
I said it would be a shame not to at least try. And finally I tried, I tried and it worked for me. I had a beautiful childhood, thanks to my parents, who were always there for me. We were a close family, they made sure I had everything I needed, they pushed me to read and that was very good, because it’s important to study, to develop your brain. For me it was something very important to have ease in studying, it is something that helped me a lot, then when I finished my career as a football player and started coaching.
“Becoming a coach means a lot of studying, being well-read and everything. You have to search a lot, read a lot, have pleasure and fluency in reading because if you don’t have the patience to do them, you can’t improve his skills in this job. I also read a lot even now. I didn’t have the opportunity to play abroad as a football player, I didn’t have the opportunity to have experiences with foreign coaches while I was playing and learn other things, I was only in Romania, so in that sense, when I started my coaching career, I had a small disadvantage.
On the other hand, of course, I had the advantage of having my father by my side. I participated in many meetings and discussions with him. I saw how he prepared his training, how he organized himself, how he prepared his games. A huge experience for me all that I lived near my father”.
