Pelé’s shirt from the 1970 World Cup is on display at the Football Museum

The Football Museum, located in the Pacaembu stadium, in São Paulo, announced the exhibition of the shirt worn by Pelé, who died this Thursday (29), in the 1970 World Cup final, the year in which the selection won the cup Jules Rimet for the third time.

The piece was undergoing a restoration process and should be on display to the public until March 2023.

Inaugurated in 2008, the museum intertwines the evolution of football with the country’s history. For this, it has interactive attractions, such as the penalty shootout simulator, videos of testimonials from players and journalists, as well as narrations of historic goals.

Pelé is part of most of the main highlights of the collection. Historic moments of the star excite visitors to the site on a daily basis.

Still in the external area of ​​the museum, a large panel with a photo of the national idol is already exposed.

It is also the former player who welcomes visitors. Upon entering, the ace, in a recording that sounds very real, welcomes you.

The main exhibition, distributed in 15 thematic rooms, narrates in a playful and interactive way how football arrived in Brazil and became part of our history and our culture, making it attractive to all audiences, lovers or not of the most popular sport on the planet. .

The Museum is fully accessible to the public of people with disabilities and foreigners, offering a variety of resources, both physical accessibility (escalators, elevators, tactile flooring, wheelchairs) and communication accessibility (audioguides in English, Spanish and for the blind, tactile models, sensorial materials, etc).

There, there is also the Brazilian Football Reference Center, which has the first public library specialized in football in the country, with more than 3,000 national and foreign titles.

Due to the end of year festivities, the Football Museum will close at 5 pm this Friday and will reopen next Tuesday (3).
