Panaitolikos set up Atromitos in the corner – Karelis scored the goal of the year!

The return to victories and good performances was celebrated by A pan-eater which prevailed 2-0 of Fearless in Agrinio, for the 16th matchday of Super League 1.

The home team “hit” billion from a cornerwith Sengelia initially “serving” the Kareli for the goal of the year with heel (!)and then to Huhumi for the final score.

Of course, direct play played a key role in the outcome of the match Red card which was accepted by Gianniotis in the 23rd minute, leaving Peristeriotes with ten players.

THE Yannis Anastasiou lined up Panaitolikos with a system 4-1-4-1. Anestis was in goal, with in front of him from right to left Apostolakis, Larson, Mladen and Huchumi in the four defense. Flores started in a defensive midfielder role, with Xenitidis and Dias playing a little further forward in the midfield. On the “wings” were Dago and Sengelia, with Karelis the only forward.

On the other hand, Mr Chris Coleman select the system 4-3-3 for the Intrepid. Gianniotis started under the posts with De Bock, Strugis, Athanasiou and Keshrinda in defense. In the midfield, Gonzales, Erlingmark and, with Rotario and Robai flanking Kiardasson in the attack, started.

The match

In a “carbon” phase with the previous one, Sengelia moved on the back of the stoppers, o Gianniotis he came out of his area, falling badly on the midfielder of the home team, as a result of which he was sent off with a straight red.

With a player more, the “canaries” – as was logical – found open corridors, besieging the opposing area, mainly with crosses from the two backs, Houchoumi-Apostolaki.

In the 31st minute, Dago’s header went wide, after a cross from Apostolakis, while in the 36th minute, Karelis missed the ball with projection, after a cross from Houchumis. In the 45th minute, Apostolaki’s diagonal shot was difficultly saved for a corner by Maric, while the biggest phase of the match came in the third minute of stoppage time, with Karelis’ header from the “heart” of the area narrowly going wide, after a new ” sweet” center of Hoochumi.

With the foot pressed on… accelerator entered the second half the Panaitolikos, immediately cashing in on his very good image that he had up to that point in the match. Seconds after the cross, Karelis’ pressure resulted in a corner for the home team. Sengelia took over the execution, with Nikos Karelis scoring the goal of the year! The top scorer of the league with ten goals, found himself at the first post, and with his back to the goal (!) caught a unimaginable heel made it 1-0 for Panaitolikos in the 46th minute!

Development that gave “wings” to the players of Agrinio, who were looking for a second goal to seal the victory. In the 53′, a double chance for this to happen was missed, their shots Flowers and Xenitidis outside the area to stop at the bodies. After an hour of play, the tempo dropped a bit, with the home side however controlling the pace.

Atromitos, who “shouts” for red to Flores after hard branding over Kiardasson in the 62′, he threatened for the first time in the 70′, with a weak shot from the Icelandic striker. Four minutes later, however, Panaitolikos scored a second goal after a corner by Sengelia and a header Huhumiwho jumped undisturbed into the heart of the large area, and taking advantage of the fact that Maric stayed at home made it 2-0!

In the last minutes and with everything essentially decided, Panaitolikos managed the match properly, comfortably reaching the three points. In the 81st minute, it almost became 3-0, with Pedro and Apostolaki unable to send the ball into the net from an advantageous position.

MVP: The title of the leader of the match is won by Levan Sengelia. The 27-year-old midfielder of Panaitolikos was excellent, as he was the one who provided the assists after a corner kick, both in Karelis’ goal and in Hoochumi’s. Earlier, in fact, the Georgian ace had won the expulsion of Gianniotis with a straight red.

The… whistle: Dimitris Maloutas is checked for the 62nd minute phase and Flores’ hard foul on Kiardasson. A phase that could well give red. After all, the foul was also checked by VAR. However, the referee didn’t even show a yellow card…
