The first evaluation tables of 2023 were published by EFOEPA

The EFOEPA rating tables are for January, but, despite the change of year, they still do not include the classic removal of table tennis players from some of the age categories. The reason is the Hellenic Federation calculated results from activities of December 2022.

In the next month, where the first competitions of 2023 will be taken into account, many and important changes will be recorded with athletes, who also typically move to a higher age category with the arrival of the new year.

For the latest ranking list, they counted results from the development tournament of Alexandroupoli, the Regional Men’s-Women’s Championship and inter-club championship matches. There are a total of 12 Greek tables, in the large category Konstantinos Angelakis remains at the top among the men and Katerina Toliou overall among the women, that is, counting the foreign athletes as well.

Two exits were recorded in the top five. This month, Constantinos Sotiriou from ASEA Sarises Florina in the girls (reduced to number 7 from December 5) and Alexandra Mavridis (Profiti Ilias Piraeus) in the mini pangorasides (at No. 6 out of 5) were eliminated. A great score improvement brought Gianniotis Giorgos Kosmas into the top five of the boys.

Quite a few more are the notable changes in the first 15 positions of the tables. Evagelia Meramvelliotakis of Olympiakos had a significant double rise in the Young Women and Junior Women. It went to positions 7 and 6 respectively (from the 12th and 10th of the previous month). In the junior category, Zoi Kazakou of OA Chania entered the top ten (at number 10 out of 12). In the teenagers, Giorgos Kyriopoulos from AS To Gymnasio moved to No. 11 (from 16).

In the mini pangorasides, 11-year-old Antonia Gandas of AO Thermis Thermaios climbed to No. 7 (from December 14) and even Foteini Papalexi of HANTH and Panagiota Tsekaris from Sarises Florina, who are in their tenth year of age, also went at No. 14 (out of 36) and No. 15 (out of 48) respectively.

Among the girls, Despina Kantara of OA Chania was in the top ten (No. 9 out of 11) and Qi Xinyu of AO Tataula was in the 15th (No. 14 out of 16). Finally, Elpida Tasios of AO Thermis Thermaios entered the 15th place in the pankorasides (exactly in 15th place from 17th).
