Peters: “I love Barzokas’ vision – I would play for the Greek National Team”

Revelations from Alec Peters! The American forward of Olympiakos spoke about his experience with the “red and whites” so far, speaking in the best words about the team’s coach, Giorgos Bartzokas, while making it known that he would like to compete in the Greek National Team!

In detail what he said to the Cosmote TV camera:

On replacing Printezis and the team’s goals: “Printezis is in a category by himself, I am not filling anyone’s shoes. He has done a lot for Olympiakos and for European basketball. I think we can build on what Olympiacos achieved last year and that we have a good chance of winning both the Greek championship and the Euroleague”.

For himself: “Everyone says I’m a good three-point shooter, but I’m trying to improve and this year with Vezenkov, I can also play at the “3””.

For the Bartzokas-Itoudis comparison: “The year I worked with Itoudis (2018-19 at CSKA Moscow) was particularly beneficial for me. He is one of the best coaches I have worked with. I’m thankful. I like the vision of coach Bartzokas and the way he works in training, teaching. He knows how to handle his relationship with the players and gets tough when required. Everyone has their own style.”

On the possibility of playing in a European national team: “I saw Eurobasket this year and I envied those who participated. I would definitely like to play with a national team, either Greece or another country. It would be a welcome opportunity. It’s wishful thinking for now but you never know. It would definitely be a very nice experience.”
