The general secretary of the Hellenic Weightlifting Federation, Pyrros Dimas, presented the final dossier for the World Junior Championship.
Greece, for the first time after many years, will organize a major international event and more specifically from May 110, 2022, the World Championship will be held in Heraklion, Crete.
Pyrros Dimas presented the Greek file and proved that EOAB is completely ready for the event, while at the same time he invited the athletes to come to Crete to get to know, among other things, the Greek hospitality.
The event was postponed to May, and was originally scheduled for March, in order to be included in the rating system for the Paris Olympics in 2024. The World Federation described the event as “gold” and the interest will definitely be even greater.
The new categories were presented at the World Congress, in view of the Olympic Games in Paris. More specifically, women will compete in 49, 59, 71, 81, + 81 kg and men in 61, 73, 89, 102 and +102 kg.
