For the fifth time in his career, Nasser Al Atiyah was a winner at Dakar Rally. The Qatari driver with Toyota after 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2022 also celebrated at the race that ended in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Al Atiyah, left behind more than one hour, both the French, Sebastian Lamb (Prodrive) – who became the first driver in the history of the famous rally to win six consecutive special stages – as well as the young Brazilian, Lucas Moraes (Toyota).

Taking the lead from the third stage of the race, which began on December 31 from the Red Sea coast near the city of Yanbu, the 52-year-old driver created a safety gap of 20 minutes from Stefan Peterhansel (Audi) and 33 minutes from Spain’s Carlos Saint. But in the course of the race, his two main rivals gave up on January 6 and 10, respectively, as a result of which he easily reached victory, managing the conditions perfectly.

Together with his French co-driver, Mathieu Beaumel, for whom this is the fourth victory in the legendary rally, Al Atiyah, Olympic champion in the skeet event, did not really worry until the final victory.

The victory in the last special stage was taken by the Frenchman, Guerlain Cicely (Prodrive), who is far behind in the general classification.
