In a terrible Thessaloniki derby that lived up to all expectations, Aris celebrated a great victory (77-70) in the hot Alexandria against the fighting PAOK for the 13th game of the Basket League and became… the boss of the city!
After this result, both the “yellow” and the “black and white” are together in the standings with a record of 7-6, the same as Prometheus Patras, both continuing the effort for a better placement in view of the playoffs.

The match
After the standard break for cards, Aris came in powerfully and with Note as the protagonist took the lead with +7 (7-0)! Renfro and Franke scored for PAOK, with the tremendously strong Sanogo restoring +7 (15-8). Hunts had set out to keep the visitors alive and with two personal 3-pointers, he managed to reduce to 4 (20-16) at the end of the first quarter.
Note and Sanogo stepped on the gas and shot the difference for the first time to +11 (27-16), but Riley responded with two three-pointers of his own (29-25)! Note opened the gap again (34-25), but PAOK found a way to reduce it (36-33) with Hunts. In fact, with a three-pointer by Kamberidis at the end of the half, the “black and white” came within breathing distance (39-38).
Goodwin and Note gave Aris a breather (53-48), but Seibert and Riley (47-46) changed the image of the match again. Seibert continued to be the absolute protagonist for PAOK with his long shots (54-53), but Note scored with a buzzer beater to give the home team a +6 lead at the end of the third quarter.
PAOK kept close (61-59), with Aris constantly escaping with +4 but the “black and white” constantly reducing. From 70-68 onwards, Aris did whatever he wanted on the court, he got three offensive rebounds in his last attack and with a three-pointer by Note, he cleaned up the match and the victory (77-70)!
