For a place in the Final-4 of the Men’s Cup, Drama and Olympiacos will play tomorrow. The two teams come from bad performances, Drama lost 30-19 to Ionikos and the “red and white” narrowly defeated Aeropos (23-22).

Drama will play without Tougelidis, Cavazis and Demertzidis, while Achilles Toskas is doubtful as he has minor problems in the back.

Statements

Sakis Valavanis (Drama technician): “We want the world by our side to keep believing in the dream. The game against Olympiakos is difficult, we know the opponent very well as we have faced them again at home for the championship. We certainly want to present ourselves as competitive as possible in order to make it difficult for Olympiakos and why not pass to the next phase as well. We want the world by our side so that we can continue to dream and help us achieve the goal of qualifying for the Final 4 and from there I believe that everything is open”.

Garifallos Bayios (Olympiakos right winger): “On Wednesday, we have a very important match against Drama, where the qualification to the four of the Cup is judged. We want to show from the first minute our combativeness and greatness as a team and erase the poor performance in the previous match. Drama is a competitive team and I am sure that they will fight for the best they can at home, but I think that the result depends on our own image”.

Home of Handball 18:00, PAOK – ASE Duka

(Tzaferopoulos- Bettman, Michaelidis)

At the closed stadium of Mikras, PAOK will welcome ASE Doukas. The two teams know each other very well this year since they have already faced each other twice in the Handball Premier championship with the “Double Header” of the North counting the same number of victories. PAOK will try to take advantage of their home ground and get the victory – qualification against a young and highly competitive team that is also fighting for a place in the semi-finals.

Statements

Chrysanthos Tsanaxidis (PAOK player): “Wednesday’s match is very important for us because it will bring us one step closer to the first important goal we have for this season. We face Doukas, a very young and competitive team and we want to show ourselves worthy of our expectations and qualify for the Final Four of the Hellenic Cup”.

Dimitris Panagiotou (Duke player): “After the great victory against Pylaia, we are invited, within a short period of time, to play another difficult match, for the quarter-final phase of the Greek Cup, against PAOK. Our team is properly prepared, physically as well as mentally, to be able to reach the goal of victory. I think that the two previous results against PAOK, for the championship, were not representative. Our team, on Wednesday, will line up almost completely, it has improved competitively and I believe that with the proper concentration we will be able to qualify”.

Pylaia will try to make a surprise, as in last year’s final in Kozani, where they shocked both AEK and all Greek sports, winning the Cup.
