“Athens Kallithea announce the signing of attacking midfielder Adil Nabi on a free transfer following the termination of his contract with Super League 1 side Atromitos by mutual consent. Nabi, 28, has signed until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Born in Birmingham, Nabi joined West Bromwich Albion’s academy where he scored 26 goals with 12 assists in 73 U21 games and was named New Player of the Season for 2014/15.
After a loan spell with Delhi Dynamos of the Indian Premier League, Nabi left West Brom followed by moves to League 1 with Peterborough United and Scottish Premiership with Dundee before coming to Greece with OFI in January 2019.
In the second half of the 2018/19 season, Nabi made nine appearances with three goals and one assist to help OFI avoid relegation, before scoring the 96th-minute winner against Platanias in the second leg of the relegation play-off. with which he secured OFI’s stay in Super League 1.
The following season, OFI secured sixth place in the table and qualified for the UEFA Europa League for the first time in 20 years with Nabi making 25 appearances (20 in the starting line-up) with four goals and three assists during the period.
In total, Nabi made 53 appearances with nine goals and four assists for the historic Cretan side before moving to Super League 1 rivals Atromitos. Nabi made nine total appearances with one assist for Atromitos before signing for AKFC.
A former England minor international, Nabi is capped nine times with the England Under-17s and twice with the Under-16s.
