PAOK announced the return of Zygoura and the transfer of Dubefska

Agni Zygoura and Sania Dabefska will continue their careers at PAOK. The “Two-Headed” announced on Friday the return of the former captain and the acquisition of the 27-year-old pivot from North Macedonia until the end of this year’s season for the women’s handball division.

In detail, the announcements:

“PAOK and the women’s handball department, PAOK mateco, announce the start of cooperation with the athlete, Agni Zygoura, for the remainder of the 2022-2023 season.

Born on 04/02/1996, Agni Zygoura competes in the district and has a height of 175cm.

She took her first steps in handball from Kastoria, where she remained until she was 18 years old. In 2014, she ‘moved’ to Athens, on behalf of OFNI, where she remained until 2018. There, she won four championships and three Cups, standing out with her performances and contributing the most to these successes of the Athenian club.

The 2018-2019 season finds him for the first time in black and white, after coming to Thessaloniki to compete for PAOK mateco. With ‘Dikephalos’ she won the double in her first season in black and white, staying in Thessaloniki for half of the 2019-20 season.

In December 2020, she takes the big step in her career, going to Spain on behalf of Rocasa Gran Canaria. Her unique experience in the high-level Spanish league is accompanied by the conquest of the EHF Women’s Cup, with the Greek regional reaching the top of Europe.

In the first half of this season, she played in Austria for Dornbirn, where she was the top scorer in the Austrian league until the holiday break. At the same time, Agni Zygoura combined handball with her professional career, as she worked as a dental technician.

He is an international player with the National team of our country, being an integral part of it.

Regarding the start of cooperation with PAOK Mateco, Agni Zygoura stated on the club’s official website, acpaok.gr: “After two years abroad with intense experiences, as positive as winning the European title with Rocasa Gran Canaria , as well as the negative ones like my two consecutive injuries, but also life experiences in Austria, where for the first time I worked on a daily basis in the subject I studied, I come back to PAOK with a clear mind, aiming to win the two titles, after very good proposal from the management of the team, which convinced me that they really want the titles”.

“PAOK and the women’s handball department, PAOK mateco, announce the start of cooperation with the athlete, Sanja Dabevska, for the remainder of the 2022-2023 season.

Born in Skopje on 3/4/1996, Sanja Dabevska competes as a pivot and is 185cm tall.

She made her first steps in the 2014-2015 season, playing for WHC Metalurg, in which she gained valuable experience from both the championship side and European performances, playing in the EHF Cup Winners Cup.

In the 2018-2019 season, she was transferred to ZRK Kumanovo, with whom she finished second in the league, while also competing in the EHF Women’s Cup.

The 2019-2020 season found her for the first time outside of Skopje, making her first stint in a Greek team, playing in the OFNI jersey. With the Attica team, she scored 16 goals in 12 matches in A1, also scoring four goals in the EHF Women’s Cup.

In the 2020-2021 season, he played in Hungary for DDKA Dunaujvaros and the following season (2021-2022) in Romania for CSM Deva.

In the first half of this season, she played for Lokomotiva Zagreb from Croatia, where she put in some excellent performances that helped her former club climb to the top of the league table, while also competing in the top club competition, the EHF Women’s Champions League.

She is an international player with her country’s national team, with whom she has competed both in the Euro and in the World Championship qualifiers.

Regarding the start of cooperation with PAOK mateco, Sanja Dabevska, stated on the club’s official website, acpaok.gr: “I am very happy to have joined PAOK. I came to PAOK because I want to contribute to winning the ‘double’, since this is also the main goal of the team. In addition, Thessaloniki is close to my home, which makes me feel even more beautiful.”
