Varone said goodbye to Panaitolikos: “I would like to do more – Another sad moment”

In his own special way, he wanted to say “goodbye” to Panaitolikos o Ivan Varone.

The Italian midfielder is from today the past from the “titormo”, after 1.5 years of presence. In fact, despite the only twelve appearances he made with the Agrinio team (he suffered a cruciate ligament tear in the middle of last season), he became especially loved in the city, due to his passion and competitiveness.

Thus, Varone said goodbye to Panaitolikos with his post on social media, characterizing today as a sad day, adding that he regrets that he was not able to offer more to the club.

In detail what he wrote:

“Another life experience comes to an end. Another sad moment when I have to turn the page and say goodbye to all the people who have accompanied me on this journey.

I want to first thank the people of Agrini, who, despite the distance from our city and our relatives, made me and my family feel at home.

Thank you for the support you gave me, thank you for the warmth you made me feel several times. And under more circumstances. I especially thank the Panaitolikos organization and Makis Belevonis because they believed in me and did everything to ensure that I would participate in this project. Thanks to all my teammates, some of whom I will definitely keep with me.

When you’re away from family, it’s important to find people who feel similar to you. And who will accompany you in the experience you share.

I still have so much to say. I certainly cannot hide that these were the most difficult five months of my career.

The injury, as difficult as it was, gave me stimuli, goals to achieve. This discomfort was created like this, day after day, without any real motive, not…

It is futile to create controversy. It is impossible for me to blame myself for anything. I’ve always given it my all, I’ve always acted like a professional, but maybe some dynamic goes beyond that. And I’ll stop here.

I would like to do more. I could have done more if given the chance. My regret is only for that. I didn’t show you the footballer Varone in all his aspects.

But everything happens for a reason. I’m sure that around the corner, something wonderful is waiting for me. Something that satisfies me, and makes me smile again.
