Monza “knocked off” Sampdoria’s breath in the 99th minute

by

So close… Sampdoria came a breath away from a big away win. A win that would give them the chance to move up in the standings and have more hope of escaping the relegation zone.

However, all this… was ruined by Monza in the ninth minute of stoppage time. Pessina with a penalty made it 2-2 and thus made the final score 2-2.

Sampdoria had opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Gabbiandini, but Monza responded to make it 1-1 in the 32nd minute through Petania. Gabbiandini with his second goal, in the 58th minute, made it 2-1 for Sampdoria, who revived at this point the hopes he had of getting the victory and… breathing.

In the end, however, they broke down in the 99th minute with Pessina equalizing at 2-2.
