La Liga denounces racist insults against Vinicius Junior in Mallorca

La Liga, organizer of the Spanish Championship, filed a complaint with the Justice of Palma de Mallorca for the racist insults against Brazilian striker Vinicius Junior, from Real Madrid, in the game against Mallorca, last Sunday.

The organization announced this Tuesday (7), in a statement, that, after analyzing “the images and audio captured from a place close to the stands, in the only part of the Son Moix stadium occupied by the public”, it passed all the information to the Justice.

La Liga added that it also took the information to “Mallorca, so that it appears in the case”.

The Brazilian striker was again the target of racial abuse by rival fans in Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat by Mallorca.

In images released by the DAZN platform, it is possible to hear at least one spectator calling Vinícius a “monkey”.

This is the sixth complaint filed by La Liga for racist insults against the Brazilian in different cities in Spain, although three of them have already been rejected.

Two others are pending in courts in Valladolid and Madrid.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti declared in Rabat, where the team is preparing for the semi-finals of the Club World Cup, that aggression against Vini is a problem in Spanish football.

“It seems that the problem is Vinícius and, in fact, everything that happens around him. It is a problem of Spanish football. I am part of Spanish football and we have to solve this,” said Ancelotti.

“It looks like he’s to blame, and he’s the victim of something I don’t understand,” added the coach.

In recent weeks, Vini has been the target of several racist attacks by rival fans and on the field he has been the protagonist of constant discussions with opponents, who accuse him of provocation.
