Prekas: “Victory to seal qualification”

He has been in Lisbon since midday on Wednesday Women’s National Team which counts down to tomorrow’s match with the Portugal (22.30, ERT3) in the city of Odivelas in the framework of the EuroBasket 2023 qualifiers. The representative group with a victory formally seals the qualification to the final phase of the competition by achieving its goal.

Speaking about tomorrow’s game against Portugal, the national coach Petros Prekas stated: “We have a difficult match ahead of us, because we are playing with a team that has a great motivation to win and have a chance to go to the Eurobasket finals. We expect a strong game as Portugal are a team that pushes and plays hard and of course they compete at home. We, on our part, have prepared for this. I believe, as always, that we will have the necessary energy to get the victory, with which we seal qualification to EuroBasket».

The Women’s National Team is a breath away from its goal with Petros Prekas, however, standing by the philosophy that has been built into the Team. “First of all, what we want is to win and qualify for EuroBasket, something that is important for women’s basketball in Greece. We as a team have one more goal, which we have set since the beginning of our endeavor and that is to always play together and do the best we can. And the team has achieved this and has built the corresponding culture. This is what we are walking on and this is what we will continue to do, building for the coming years. This philosophy has become our property, we all feel it in the Women’s National Team and it was a goal we set from the beginning with the management of the Federation».
