Papatheodorou: “We were out of place and out of time in the first half”

by

The responsibility for the poor presence of the Colossus of Rhodes in the first half was taken by Ilias Papatheodorou after defeat (89-82) by PAOK.

In detail what Elias Papatheodorou said:

Congratulations to PAOK for the victory. With the way we handled the match in the first half, we had no chance to claim it. We were out of place and time in all situations. We looked unprepared and when a team isn’t ready, more often than not, it’s the manager’s fault. Although we had pointed out the importance and how good PAOK is when they find a rhythm, we did not do anything of what we had said. We managed in the second to equalize, to claim the victory, but it is not easy when you are so bad for 25 minutes to beat a team like PAOK.

A lot of times when you shoot more, those shots can come from either offensive rebounds or fouls. We did a lot of rushing attacks. It was without good conditions, without good creation. We found a better rhythm from our defense and executed better in the second half. We all look at the numbers, but sometimes, they don’t tell the truth. It doesn’t matter that we had 20 more shots and more rebounds.”
